A new hybrid transaxle and two electric motors (three motors in AWD) have made power transitions smoother than previous models. Combined fuel economy for FWD models reaches 44 mpg, while the AWD test car achieved a real-life highway mileage of 36 mpg, which is an improvement over the previous model.

The RAV4 Hybrid’s driving is responsive and linear. The all-wheel drive version accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in just 7.1 seconds. However, the four-cylinder engine produces some noise and vibration during rapid acceleration. Steering precision is good, but the high seating position and body roll require some caution during tight corners. Ride quality is satisfactory, and damping is sufficiently soft, which is essential in an SUV.
Toyota RAV4 Hybrid 2025: Design and Style
The new RAV4 has a strong and upright design, giving it an even more imposing appearance. Customers can choose from several styling options, including rugged versions like the Woodland and GR Sport. The GR Sport PHEV version even adds a rear spoiler. The platform shares much of the same platform with the previous model, but has been further improved with some suspension tweaks and structural reinforcements.
