PM Dhan Dhanya: The success of the country is closely related to the well-being of farmers, who are the lifeblood of the country. On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled two significant agricultural initiatives that will give farmers fresh hope and opportunities. The PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana and the Pulses Self-Reliance Mission are two programs designed to improve the financial security of farmers, boost agricultural output, and fortify rural infrastructure.
PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana: ₹24,000 crore in investment
The Prime Minister’s Office estimates that the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana will cost ₹24,000 crore in total. Increasing agricultural productivity, using sustainable farming methods, and enhancing post-harvest storage at the panchayat and block levels are the primary goals of this program. Key goals of this program also include enhancing irrigation infrastructure and making long-term and short-term loans more accessible in 100 districts that have been chosen. This program is a significant step toward a new revolution in agriculture and rural development by equipping farmers with resources and contemporary technologies.
Self-Reliance Mission: Enhancing the Value Chain and Pulse Production
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi announced the ₹11,440 crore Pulse Self-Reliance Mission. In order to help farmers prevent losses and contribute to the profitability of agricultural enterprises, the mission seeks to increase pulse productivity, increase the area under cultivation, and fortify the value chain, which includes procurement, storage, and processing.
The Prime Minister, speaking with farmers, characterized this initiative as his dedication to rural infrastructure development, agricultural self-sufficiency, and farmer welfare. In addition to raising farmers’ incomes, these programs will help them gain independence and self-determination.
