PM Kisan Yojana: Amid the Bihar Assembly elections, a major announcement for farmers has heated up the political atmosphere. This promise made in the NDA’s manifesto has become a topic of discussion, and all eyes are focused on farmers. If this promise is realized, it could change the fortunes of millions of farmers in Bihar. The question is: is this merely an election strategy or a genuine initiative to help farmers?
Elections in Bihar are near, and voting will take place in two phases for 243 seats. The results are expected on November 14th. Meanwhile, the NDA has made a major promise for farmers. If the coalition forms the government, the state government will provide an additional ₹3,000 to farmers in addition to the ₹6,000 already received under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. This means that Bihar farmers will receive a total of ₹9,000 annually.
NDA’s Masterstroke: Will this promise be a game-changer?

Under the central government’s PM Kisan Yojana, farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three installments. Now, according to the NDA’s new promise, the Bihar government will add ₹3,000. This amount could prove to be a significant financial boost for small farmers and those investing in agriculture.
The manifesto also promises an investment of ₹1 lakh crore for agricultural infrastructure. This includes improving irrigation systems, cold storage, and market facilities. If this investment becomes a reality, it will significantly transform Bihar’s rural infrastructure and farming conditions.
PM Kisan Yojana: When will the 21st installment arrive?

The PM Kisan Yojana was launched in 2019, and 21 installments have been released so far. Recently, this amount has been transferred to the accounts of farmers in flood-affected states like Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Reports suggest that the 21st installment may be transferred to the accounts of farmers in other states by November 2025, although an official announcement from the government is still pending.
