Brataroo 9500 Turbo: Exciting news has arrived for car enthusiasts around the world. Hoonigan and Subaru of America have unveiled their new Gymkhana car, the Brataroo 9500 Turbo. Based on Subaru’s older model, the BRAT, it’s been modified so dramatically that it’ll give anyone an adrenaline rush. This new Gymkhana machine was specially designed for Travis Pastrana, who will drive it in the “Aussie Shred” series being filmed in Australia.
Brataroo 9500 Turbo: When classic design meets modern power

The Brataroo’s look is like an 80s dream retro colors, a wide body design, and powerful ‘Roo Bars’ on the front. One thing comes to mind: it’s not just a car, it’s a ‘modern classic.’ This car was designed by renowned 3D designer Khyzyl Saleem and brought to life by Vermont SportsCar, Subaru’s rally car partner company.
The car’s entire body is made of carbon fiber, making it lightweight yet extremely strong. It features adjustable front louvers that can change their angle mid-jump to suit air flow. It also features two rear wings—one for speed and downforce, and the other for drifting and hand-brake stunts.
Powerful Engine and Powerful Performance
The Brataroo 9500 Turbo’s name is as funky as its performance. It’s powered by a 2.0-liter Subaru boxer engine that can rev up to 9500 RPM. This engine generates 670 horsepower and 680 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with a 6-speed sequential gearbox and all-wheel-drive system, allowing it to zip across any surface with lightning speed.
Underneath, a rallycross-grade chassis and a WRC-level roll cage make this car not only fast but also safe. In the words of Travis Pastrana, “This car doesn’t run on the ground, it flies.”
New Gymkhana stunt show to be shot in Australia

Hoonigan’s new Gymkhana film, titled Aussie Shred, will be released on YouTube next month. It was filmed on Australian roads and open terrain. Pastrana will be seen “hooning” the car, kicking up dust from the streets of Sydney to open tracks. This show will once again redefine adventure and driving skills for car lovers.
This new project from Subaru and Hoonigan demonstrates that when classic design is combined with modern technology and creativity, something truly spectacular is created. The Brataroo 9500 Turbo isn’t just a gymnasium car, it’s a moving adventure that’s set to write a new chapter in the world of motorsport.
