Mahatari Vandan Yojana: Women’s economic empowerment is once again taking place in Chhattisgarh today. About 6.5 million women in the state are happy that the 20th installment of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana has been released. The fact that Union Home Minister Amit Shah moved the money to the women’s bank accounts from the historic stage of Bastar Dussehra and Muria Darbar makes this occasion even more memorable. There was a sense of pride and jubilation throughout Jagdalpur on this particular occasion.
A significant step in empowering women to be self-sufficient is the Mahatari Vandan Yojana
This ambitious plan was introduced by the Chhattisgarh government on March 1, 2024, with the goal of empowering married women in the state economically. Every married woman over 21 who participates in the program receives ₹1,000 in monthly financial aid. In addition to helping with household expenses, this sum gives women a solid basis on which to build a self-sufficient and respectable existence in society.
Transferring 606 crore 94 lakh directly
64,94,768 beneficiary ladies received a direct transfer of ₹606 crore 94 lakh into their bank accounts during this event on October 4, 2025. “Chhattisgarh, the sacred land of Mother Kaushalya and the maternal home of Lord Shri Ram, is today charting a new course of good governance and development under your guidance,” said Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, welcoming the Union Home Minister on this momentous occasion.
Thus far, the initiative has disbursed more than ₹12,983 crore
Women have received a total of ₹12,376 crore 19 lakh in 19 payments under this plan thus far. This sum has risen to more than ₹12,983 crore 13 lakh with the payment of the 20th installment. This is more than just a figure; it represents the state government’s dedication to helping millions of women not only financially but also to helping them forge a new identity as empowered citizens in society.
Mahatari Vandan Yojana: A model for empowering women
In Chhattisgarh, the Mahatari Vandan Yojana has emerged as a potent illustration of women’s economic independence. The administration has demonstrated via consistent installments that women’s empowerment is a genuine program carried out on the ground, not merely a catchphrase. Millions of women are achieving their goals and better managing their family duties by enrolling in this program.
