Income Tax: The deadline for submitting audit reports for the fiscal year 2024–2025 has been extended by the Income Tax Department. Taxpayers will now have until October 31, 2025, instead of the previous deadline of September 30, 2025. Chartered accountants, businesses, trusts, and taxpayers all benefit greatly from this ruling.
A Taxpayer Relief
This decision was made in response to professional groups’ demands and natural calamities, according to the Central Board of Direct Taxes, or CBDT. Taxpayers will benefit from the extra time and find it easier to file audit reports thanks to this extension.
Document Submissions using the E-Filing Portal
As of September 23, 2025, more than 75.7 million Income Tax Returns (ITRs) had been filed, according to the CBDT. The department added that the e-filing platform is operating without hiccups, guaranteeing that taxpayers won’t have any issues while submitting their reports.
Advantages for Businesses and Trusts
This ruling will be especially helpful to organizations that are under more compliance strain. Now, corporate taxpayers, trusts, and large organizations can easily and compliantly file audit reports in compliance with the guidelines.
