Hyundai Ioniq 9 Off-Road Concept: If you thought electric SUVs were only meant for city streets, Hyundai shattered that myth at SEMA 2025. This time, Hyundai collaborated with YouTube channel BigTime to transform its luxury electric SUV, the Ioniq 9, into an off-road beast. This concept version not only looks powerful, but also evokes classic rally cars from the 1970s.
Hyundai Ioniq 9 Off-Road: When the Electric SUV Takes to the Mountains

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is the brand’s premium electric SUV, launched earlier this year. It features dual motors, an all-wheel drive system, and 422 horsepower. But Jeremiah Burton and Zach Jobe of BigTime presented it in a new light—as an electric machine that can easily navigate deserts, mountains, and dirt roads.
Hyundai Ioniq 9 Off-Road: New Look, New Identity
The BigTime team started with the Ioniq 9’s Calligraphy trim, the most luxurious version, priced at approximately $76,590 (approximately ₹64 lakh). It features a lifted suspension, giving the SUV a higher ride height. Larger, thicker BFGoodrich all-terrain tires make it a true off-roader. These tires are mounted on attractive white OZ racing wheels, giving it a rally-like appearance.
Hyundai Ioniq 9 Off-Road: 1970s-Inspired Design
The most interesting aspect of this concept is its brown and tan color wrap. The design is inspired by the trucking era of the 1970s, featuring a large Hyundai logo and a bubble-style script of “BigTime.” This look is inspired by a 1977 Kenworth cabover truck that the YouTubers purchased for their channel last year.
A light bar on the SUV’s roof helps illuminate trails during nighttime journeys. This detail not only makes it more functional but also enhances its off-road appeal.
Hyundai Ioniq 9 Off-Road: A New Chapter in the World of Electric SUVs

While Hyundai hasn’t revealed how much the BigTime Concept will influence future Ioniq models, one thing is clear: it showcases how luxury and adventure can be seamlessly combined. This new look for the Ioniq 9 sends a message that electric vehicles can be not just smart, but also adventurous and bold.
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 BigTime Concept is a new face for electric mobility—one that is stylish, powerful, and off-road ready. This partnership between Hyundai and BigTime proves that in the future, EVs can also set new standards for adventure and power.
