Honda HRC: Honda unveiled its off-road concept, the Passport TrailSport HRC, at the SEMA Show. This prototype model is specifically designed for adventure and rugged terrain. The concept features new dampers from Multimatic, steel front and rear bumpers, additional protective plates, and a custom exhaust system. Honda aims to further enhance the TrailSport’s capabilities, making off-road driving a safer and more exciting experience.
The TrailSport HRC’s ride height has been increased by 2.4 inches, and its larger 275/65R-18 Falken RT tires provide better grip on difficult terrain. Additionally, the prototype includes features like rock sliders, side steps, and a swing-out spare tire carrier. Additional exterior lighting includes side camp lights, ditch lights, a roof light bar, and rear chase lights, all of which can be controlled via a smartphone app or the car’s control panel.

The car’s interior features HRC Blue Alcantara seat inserts and dashboard mounting panels that can accommodate devices like a GPS screen or CB radio. The rear features Molle panels and a power supply, along with space for a refrigerator. Honda says this model is a showcase for prototype performance parts, and is observing the response from car enthusiasts.
Honda HRC: Civic Type R HRC Rally XP: A Rally Car Dream
At SEMA, Honda also introduced the Civic Type R HRC Rally XP, a road-legal rally car. This car is built to American Rally Association (ARA) regulations and may be available to customers. The Civic Type R HRC Rally XP includes race-ready parts, such as camber/caster plates, an oil cooler kit, an intercooler, a clutch plate differential, an upgraded suspension, and TCR-inspired hood vents. The brakes are PFC monoblock units and shod with Hoosier gravel rally tires.
Honda aims to allow customers to experience these rally-ready cars, and also offers various upgrade parts to make the road cars rally-ready.
