Which Districts are Implemented in the Scheme?
Currently, the scheme is implemented in 10 districts of Bihar. These districts include Katihar, Purnia, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Kishanganj, Supaul, Araria, Madhepura, Saharsa, and Khagaria. The government has selected these districts under Schedules 1, 2, and 3 to maximize the impact of the scheme.
What benefits will farmers receive?
Under the Makhana Vikas Yojana, farmers will be trained on modern farming and processing techniques. Additionally, up to 75% subsidy will be provided on traditional equipment used in Makhana cultivation. These equipment include auka, ganj, kara, khainchhi, sieve, mat, afra, and thappi. The maximum amount of this subsidy can be up to ₹16,575.

To benefit from this scheme, applicants must be farmers and reside in one of the 10 selected districts. Farmers must have a minimum of 0.25 acres and a maximum of 10 acres of agricultural land. Applicants must also be registered on the DBT portal.

Farmers will first register on the DBT portal. After completing Aadhaar verification, filling in Kisan Credit Card (KCC) information, and land details, a registration ID will be generated. They can then apply by visiting the official website link. Upon submitting their application, they will receive an application number, which can be kept for future reference or verification.

The documents required for the application include Aadhaar number, passport-sized photo, land ownership certificate or receipt (for raiyat farmers), contract form (for non-raiyat farmers), and, if necessary, genealogy certificate.
