Namo Lakshmi and Namo Saraswati Yojana: Every parent wants their children to pursue education and advance in life. However, financial constraints frequently leave this goal unfulfilled. In these situations, government programs provide families and children a glimmer of hope. This example was recently set by the Gujarati government.
Daughters received a lot of help from the Namo Lakshmi and Namo Saraswati Yojana
The Namo Lakshmi and Namo Saraswati Yojana was introduced by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in March 2024 with the goal of preventing any daughter from abandoning her education in the middle of her studies because of financial difficulties. Girls in grades 9 through 12 are eligible for this program, which is unique in that daughters who are enrolled in other government scholarships can also apply.
Each girl student participating in this program receives a total of Rs 50,000 in aid over the course of four years. Over 10.49 lakh daughters have benefited from it thus far, and more than Rs 1,000 crore has been disbursed. For the scheme’s smooth operation and transparency, the Namo Lakshmi portal has also been launched.
For scientific students, Namo Saraswati Yojana
The Namo Lakshmi and Namo Saraswati Yojana was also started by the Gujarati government with the intention of encouraging science and educating kids for the future. This program is intended for students studying science in grades 11 and 12 who received 50% or higher in class 10.
Eligible students receive Rs 25,000 in financial aid over the course of two years under this program. Over 1.5 lakh students have received more than Rs 161 crore in distributions thus far. In order to make the scheme’s operation even simpler and more transparent, a Namo Saraswati portal has also been launched.
Crucial actions for development and education
Bhupendra Patel, the chief minister, just finished his fourth year in office. He has made numerous significant actions during this time to further Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047 by offering Gujarat high-quality, future-ready education. The Namo Lakshmi and Namo Saraswati Yojana initiatives are crucial to achieving this goal.
In addition to making it simpler for daughters and students to pursue their education, these two Gujarati government initiatives are also setting the groundwork for the state’s prosperous future. Real empowerment can only be attained via education, and this program is a significant step in that direction.
