Bhavantar Yojana: The Madhya Pradesh government’s Bhavantar Yojana, launched to provide relief to farmers from falling crop prices, has now become a source of trouble for them. Farmers say they have completed all the registration and necessary procedures for the scheme, but are now unable to receive the promised benefits due to excessive documentation and complex processes.
Bhavantar Yojana: Slack in Sales and the Role of the Administration

According to the administration, more than 540 farmers sold soybeans in various markets across the district on Wednesday, but only 20 were able to successfully sell in Malhargarh. Farmers allege that the conditions set by the government, such as the estimated 30% loss based on a production of 12 quintals per hectare, do not match reality. According to them, the actual crop production was only about four quintals, and it could only be sold for 3,500 to 3,800 rupees.
Congress’s Allegations and the Impact of Untimely Rains
Block Congress President Anil Sharma accused the government of misleading farmers and said that the Bhavantar Yojana actually benefits traders. He also pointed out that many farmers lack tractors, insurance, or proper documents, forcing them to wait in long queues for hours for online verification.
Sharma warned that untimely rains have exacerbated the crisis, affecting soybean, opium, and wheat crops. Waterlogged fields are at risk of seed rot and re-sowing. He criticized the Agriculture Department, saying it is only offering suggestions, while farmers need concrete relief.
Farmers’ Hopes and Expectations from the Government

This situation has become a cause of concern for farmers, as their economic future is directly linked to crop sales and benefits from the scheme. The government is expected to understand the real problems of farmers and take immediate action to ensure they receive the full fruits of their hard work.
