Expansion through joint departmental participation

The Women’s Empowerment, Medical and Health, and School Education departments are working together to make this scheme more effective. District-level orientation workshops will be held, where the scheme’s procedures and eligibility criteria will be explained in detail, so that the scheme can reach as many beneficiaries as possible.

Financial assistance of Rs. 1.5 lakh – Benefits will be available in seven installments

Under the Lado Protsahan Yojana, financial assistance of Rs. 1.5 lakh is provided to girls born in a government or government-authorized medical institution. This amount is deposited directly into the beneficiary’s bank account in seven installments. This assistance is provided with the girls’ education and overall development in mind, so that their dreams are not hampered by financial constraints.

Government monitoring slow progress, review process underway

This benefit was to be extended to girl students in private schools from the 2024-25 academic year, but progress on the scheme has not yet reached the expected level. Consequently, the government has now decided to review the process at all levels and clarify the methodology to further accelerate the scheme’s progress and ensure timely benefits reach every eligible girl.
