Delhi Gramoday Mission: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has taken a major step to improve the quality of life in rural areas of the capital. Under the Delhi Gramodya Abhiyan, 252 villages in Delhi have been provided with Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections since March 2024. According to officials, this initiative has provided rural families with access to clean cooking fuel, and approximately 73,981 consumers have benefited from it.
Senior DDA officials stated that 252 of the 359 villages in the capital are now connected to the PNG network. This is not just a technical connection, but a major improvement in sanitation, health, and convenience in rural life. Reducing dependence on polluting fuels like wood and kerosene will also significantly contribute to environmental sustainability.
Rural Life Is Improved by Development Projects

To raise living standards and infrastructure in rural regions, 854 development projects totaling about ₹860 crore have been approved under the Delhi Gramoday Mission. These projects include building housing units, constructing drainage systems, installing roads and walkways, and developing other necessary facilities.
According to DDA authorities, 428 of the 854 projects that were approved have been finished. These initiatives are a great first step in integrating rural communities into the urban core. In addition to raising living standards, the completion of these projects will increase employment and economic activity in rural areas.
Delhi Gramoday Mission: Plans and Expectations for the Future

In the upcoming months, officials intend to gradually provide PNG connections and other civic facilities to the other settlements. The goal of the Delhi Gramoday Mission is to close the gap between rural and urban areas. Additionally, this plan will support better health, sanitation, and environmental preservation.
In addition to offering rural Delhi residents amenities, this project is a big step in changing their lives and helping them become self-sufficient.
