These cars were then shipped back to the United States for final assembly. During this process, each car received 15 layers of hand-polished paint a feat no less than magical in those days.

The Dual-Ghia was powered by a 315-cubic-inch “Red Ram” Dodge V-8 engine, producing 230 horsepower. At the time, the car could reach speeds of up to 120 mph (approximately 193 km/h) making it a rocket in the 1950s.

When this car was launched, it cost $7,650, which translates to approximately ₹9 million in today’s money. At the time, it was considered one of the most expensive cars in America. Due to its limited production run and handmade quality, it was accessible only to a select few.
An interesting story goes that then-Governor Ronald Reagan once lost his Dual-Ghia to President Lyndon Johnson in a poker game meaning this car was not only used on the roads, but also in stories. This car featured an onboard record player, a symbol of luxury in its day.
