Yojana Sukanya Samriddhi
In 2015, the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana was launched with the intention of ensuring women’s financial security in the future. Under this scheme, bank accounts are opened in the names of girls under the age of ten. Each fiscal year, parents or legal guardians may deposit a minimum of ₹250 and a maximum of ₹1.5 lakh into these accounts.
Women Welfare Schemes: Yojana Lakhpati Didi
August 15, 2023, saw the launch of the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, a scheme aimed at empowering women economically in both rural and urban areas. It gives women the opportunity to start their own businesses and earn a decent livelihood, which helps them become self-sufficient.
Yojana Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana
This initiative was launched in 2017 with the intention of providing financial assistance to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. As of January 2025, 38.1 million women had received ₹17,362 crore. First-time mothers receive the ₹5,000 support directly into their bank accounts in three installments. If a woman conceives again and gives birth to a girl, she will receive a lump sum payment of ₹6,000.
