The government has sent a clear message that its aim is not just to make announcements, but to extend the benefits of development to every section of society. In line with this philosophy, several key decisions have been made regarding employee welfare, women’s empowerment, and social reform.

The most emotionally significant decision of this cabinet meeting was for the Haryana Roadways drivers who had been serving on contract since 2002. The government has ended their years of waiting by deciding to bring 347 drivers under the ambit of the old pension scheme. This decision has also brought a sense of security for the future of their families.

  • Drivers recruited on contract in 2002 will be considered regular employees from their date of initial appointment.
  • All service benefits such as OPS, ACP, family pension, and GPF will be provided.

According to the government, the actual financial benefits associated with these decisions will be implemented from September 1, 2024, providing permanent financial relief to the employees.

Scope of Lado Lakshmi Yojana Expanded, Women Receive Respect and Security

In the direction of women’s empowerment, the government has further strengthened the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana. Now, this scheme will not be limited to just financial assistance, but will also include important aspects like education and health. The government believes that only when women are empowered will the family and society become strong.

  • Mothers of students who score more than 80% marks in 10th and 12th grade will receive ₹2100 in assistance.
  • ₹1100 in cash and ₹1000 deposited as an FD or RD for future security.

Along with this, women with an annual income of up to ₹1.80 lakh who are suffering from anemia and malnutrition have also been included in this scheme, so that both health and dignity can be ensured. Cow Protection and Rural Development Receive New Momentum

The government has reiterated its commitment to cow protection by approving a 20-year lease of panchayat land in Rattevali village, Panchkula, to the Kamdhenu Gau Seva Samiti (Kamdhenu Cow Service Committee). Meanwhile, to accelerate development in rural areas, Kunjpura, Madlauda, and Shahzadpur have been granted municipal status. This will create new opportunities for local amenities and employment.

Strict Decision on Transparency in Registry Process

To curb corruption and illegal activities, the government has decided to impose a complete ban on land registrations based on land exchange in unauthorized colonies. The Chief Minister stated that transparency in the registry system is essential so that the general public does not face any difficulties.

Haryana’s Major Achievement in Honoring Daughters

During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed regarding the sex ratio figures. While the figure was 871 in 2014, it has increased to 923 in 2025. Strict action against illegal sex determination tests and the closure of hundreds of illegal abortion centers are considered major reasons for this change. This shows that Haryana is now serious and sensitive about the future of its daughters.

Overall, this New Year’s cabinet meeting has given Haryana several significant gifts. Decisions such as pension security for Roadways employees, economic and social empowerment for women, and transparency in administration prove that the government is moving forward in implementing development on the ground.
